Like so many of us, I am someone who has grown up with mental health creating hurdles throughout my life. It wasn’t until the first lockdown where I discovered that art could become my perfect diversion and acted like the perfect escape; it seems to be the one constant that can ground and reconnect me with home. Hence why most of my art is inspired by the sea and countryside; where I grew up and feel most at home. The messy finish is intentional as it removes all aspects of perfectionism and pressure that comes from every day. I hope my paintings make people feel something, bringing everyone a sense of calm, taking them home too.
